Easter Egg Flower Vase Ornaments

This decoration can be used in a window or on an Easter tree, on a dried branch or chandelier.

Gather the following supplies:

Directions for Emptying Eggs:
Empty the contents of the raw egg by putting hole in the top of the egg using the end of a large paper clip for the initial hole. Open up the size of the hole at the top until it is about the size of a quarter, carefully using the paperclip end and then you can carefully break off pieces with your fingers until it is the desired width. Dump out the contents of the egg, and wash the egg thoroughly with soap and water. To hasten the drying process of eggs after they have been emptied and cleaned, they can be placed in the microwave for about a minute or a regular oven at 200 degrees for about 10 minutes.

Directions for Coloring Eggs using Dudley's Egg Decorating Kit:

Step #1: Cover the work area with paper.

Step #2:
Place the Dudley's Coloring Tablets into Dudley's Coloring Cups or bowls or glasses.
Add ½ cup warm water to each cup.
Add 3 Tablespoons of vinegar to each color – BUT DO NOT PUT VINEGAR IN THE CUP WITH THE PINK COLORING TABLET.
Stir the colors until the tablet is dissolved.

Step #3:
Using a spoon or egg dipper, put the eggs into the dye colors. Roll the eggs around carefully, so the dye is even. Let the eggs dry thoroughly.

Easter Egg Flower Vase Ornaments Assembly Instructions:

Cut about 15" long pieces of rickrack or ribbon for each egg ornament.

Using craft glue or a glue gun, place glue in a stripe on one half of the egg from the bottom to the top edge. Place one end of the rickrack at the middle of the bottom of the egg and stick it to the stripe of glue. Place glue in a stripe on the other side. Also add a little dab of glue to the edge of the rickrack that is already on the bottom. Now attach the rickrack, starting by overlapping about ¼" with the rickrack on the bottom and then stick it to the rest of the stripe all the way up to the top edge. Make sure glue is adhering well, especially at the top edge of the egg. Allow glue to dry completely.

Place artificial flowers into the eggs. You may have to trim the ends of the flowers or bend the wires of the flower stems to fit them and arrange them into the eggs.

You can hang your Egg Flower Vase Ornaments in many different places: in a window from a curtain rod using fishing line, or hang them on an Easter tree or on a dried branch, or on a chandelier.
